Miss Virginia United States

As I was entering my final weeks of my freshman year at James Madison University, I never could have imagined what was about to happen to me. After months of preparation I was on my way to compete in the Miss Virginia Teen United States pageant. Once I had met with all of the girls after our first rehearsal, I knew that I was going to have the time of my life. From the Black Finn restaurant to the Scottish Rite Temple, the girls and I became extremely close. As we stood on stage awaiting the announcement of the winners, my heart was racing. Then the moment came when Chris read my name, Elle Bunn, as the new Miss Virginia Teen United States 2008, I couldn’t believe this was happening. I felt so blessed to know that I will have the opportunity to represent my beautiful home state of Virginia for a whole year. The curtain closed as I was sitting in the red leather chair set center stage. I closed my eyes and took a brief second to myself to thank God for this unbelievable opportunity. When I opened them I realized how privileged I was to be crowned out of this remarkable group of young women. I have never met a sweeter group of young ladies in my life. They truly made my experience that Sunday afternoon all the more worth while. In winning this title I can be nothing but thankful for all of the love and support I have received. Thanks to my family for always being there for me and encouraging me to not stop ‘till I reach the top! Thank you to my wonderful friends for keeping me going and being the best support system. And lastly thank you so much to the entire Virginia United States staff for making this pageant an unforgettable experience for everyone! I promise to fulfill my duties to the best of my ability as I, Elle Bunn, embark on the incredible journey as your Miss Virginia Teen United States 2008!
